Elevate the Lumberjack Emergency Assistance Fund

LEAF and the Lumberjack CARE Center provide critical resources to help students overcome unexpected challenges that can derail their education. When you give to the Lumberjack Emergency Assistance Fund you help ensure Lumberjacks stay enrolled and thrive, despite hurdles they may face.

Your generosity makes a direct impact on student success and overall wellness by:

• Providing vital assistance to combat food insecurity
• Covering unexpected college costs, or
• Connecting students with on-campus services

How your support can make an impact...

In the 2024-2025 academic year alone, LEAF awarded $62,000 in emergency assistance grants to NAU students facing hardship. This year, we are on track to do the same.

A $500 grant through LEAF can be the deciding factor for whether or not a student stays at NAU.

Hear directly from recipients of LEAF funding:

"I am truly grateful for this funding, it means so much to me. It will help ease the financial stress I’ve been carrying and allow me to focus on my mental health, which is so important as I continue through the nursing program. I plan to use the funding for my medication, therapy sessions, and gas so I can get to my appointments. Thank you for helping me stay on track with both my health and my education." - Anonymous Lumberjack

"The LEAF funding has allowed me to focus more on my studies and less on financial stress, giving me additional time for coursework, community involvement, and my responsibilities as a mother. This generosity has not only provided financial relief but also motivated me to work harder and strive for excellence, as well as complete my mandatory internship and push toward graduation in May 2026. It serves as a powerful reminder that there are kind-hearted people who believe in students like me and are willing to invest in our futures. This investment has given me the confidence to pursue my dreams and work toward making a difference in the world. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and the reduced financial burden LEAF has provided." - Anonymous Lumberjack

Thank you for your axe of kindness!

Your generosity helps NAU students stay enrolled. Because of your support, students are able to overcome obstacles that may otherwise detail their goal of completing a degree. Thank you for supporting LEAF during the 2026 Homecoming Campus Open House.
